This kit includes our custom food grade silicone steaming trays, designed specifically to create authentic steamed cheeseburgers at home. Steam cooking keeps the burgers moist and tender while preserving the rich flavor that makes this Connecticut classic so unique.

Unlike large commercial steam cabinets used in restaurants, this kit is designed for home cooks using a simple pan and water setup. Place the trays inside a standard 10 to 12 inch pan, add water, and allow steam to cook steamed burgers evenly. Each tray is hand poured from high heat food grade silicone and made thicker and deeper than traditional restaurant trays, measuring almost 2x bigger. The extra depth allows you to pack in more ground beef for fuller burgers. For best results, we recommend using 80 to 90 percent lean ground beef.

The Extra Home Chef Kit includes five steaming trays, allowing most pans to use three to four steaming trays at once while the remaining tray can be prepared for the next batch. Each tray includes a textured lifting tab and tilt friendly design so excess grease and water can be easily drained during steaming using a mini spatula to safely lift and remove the trays and two Wallet Wrench bottle openers because every good burger need a good drink and you can be sure you are always ready to save the day with a bottle opener.
